A few months ago, I switched phone contracts and as a result received a free £50 Amazon voucher. So, I decided to treat myself to theBalm Nude ‘tude and Nude Dude eyeshadow palettes (which I will do another review on later).
This palette retails for around £30 and comes with 12 neutral shades, featuring a mixture of matte, satin and shimmery finishes. The palette also includes a large mirror and a small double-ended eyeshadow brush.
As you will see, when swatching each shade I found that they lacked pigmentation however when applied to the eyelid, the shadows appear much bolder and more pigmented.
Sassy, stubborn & selfish
Sassy is a white satin and can be used to highlight the inner corner or brow bone.
Stubborn is a soft peach/pink with buildable pigmentation. I like to use this all over the lid for a natural look.
Selfish is a more pigmented, taupe shade and is great to be used all over the lid.
Sophisticated, sexy & serious
Sophisticated is a fairly pigmented, warm brown and great for blending into the crease and the outer corner.
Sexy is a rich matte burgundy. It has a smooth texture, great pigmentation and works well for blending all over the lid or into the outer corner. This is my absolute favourite shade in this palette!
Serious is a deep, matte black and fairly pigmented however I don’t use this shade often and I find the texture quite dry.
Snobby, stand-offish & sultry
Snobby is a soft golden/yellow and a great all over the lid shade.
Stand-offish is a satin champagne pink and looks really pretty when applied all over the lid.
Sultry is a soft, matte brown with buildable pigmentation. I find this works really well as a transition shade.
Seductive, silly & sleek
Seductive is a golden bronze shade, great for applying all over the lid.
Silly is a light brown with a little sparkle but poor pigmentation.
Sleek is a rich coffee brown. It’s fairly pigmented and great for blending into the outer corner.
Overall, I really like this palette. I find the colours easy to work with and I love the vintage packaging and the name of each shade. I would say, however, I find it quite difficult to achieve a complete look using only this palette as the shades are all quite different. Nonetheless, I will continue to reach for this palette to create a natural, daytime look.
Do you own any of theBalm eyeshadow palettes? Which one is your favourite?
Thanks for reading,

I saw this palette at my local drugstore it is priced for an about 40€. It is up in the price but I always pass it when ever I see it because of that you said it can’t be archieved look with it that personally look for. I will rather spend 20€ on my Morphe palette and have 35 shadows than all 12 light and ‘umh it is ok’ shadows. It is cute packaging I can’t say it isn’t. They have all the products nice packaged. I reccomend to you must trying product from them are their matte lipsticks (liquid) and the Mary Lou lumizer woow that one iss so insane and so good. I have review on my blog so if you want to see it be free to look :-).

Yeah I agree, I do like it but it’s not my favourite palette. Which Morphe palette do you own? I’ve not tried their lipsticks but I do have the Mary Lou Manizer and I love it too! 🙂
